History January
22nd, 1996 Marc Laimon began his training at the
world famous Gracie Academy under then UFC champion
Royce Gracie. Marc was promoted to Blue Belt.
In
1997 Marc Laimon got offered the opportunity to
teach at the world famous Beverly Hills Jiu Jitsu
Club. At BHJJ, Marc trained and was trained by
world class MMA fighters, including UFC champions,
Bas Rutten, Oleg Tatakrov, Mark Kerr and Marco
Ruas. Marc received his purple belt under Joe
Moreira and Marcus Viniusicius.
In
1999 Marc Laimon was recruited by the world famous
powerhouse Nova Uniao JJ team. In Rio de Janiero,
Marc got the opportunity to train with, multiple
Mundial Champions, Vitor "Shaolin" Ribiero
and Robson Moura under the tutelage of Andre Pedernaris.
In
1999 Marc Laimon became Head Instructor of Nova
Uniao Hawaii. He recieved his Brown Belt from
Nova Uniao Black Belt John Lewis during this time.
In
2000 Marc Laimon began teaching at JSECT in Las
Vegas.
In
July 2001, after 5 1/2 years of training and competing
world wide Marc Laimon received his Black Belt.
In
2004 Marc opened up his own Cobra Kai JJ school
in Las Vegas
In
2004 Marc was selected as the head Submission
Grappling coach for the
“Ultimate Fighter” Reality show on
Spike TV.
In
2005 Marc was voted "Instructor of the Year"
by OnTheMat.com.
In
September, 2005 Marc became the seventh person
inducted into the Grappling Hall Of Fame.
In
2005 Marc was selected as the head Submission
Grappling coach for the second season of "The
Ultimate Fighter" reality show on Spike TV.
In 2006 Marc was again as aan assistant coach
for the fourth season of "The Ultimate Fighter"
reality show on Spike TV.
Marc is has now focused his extensive knowledge
of MMA and Jiu Jitsu on training the memebers
of Team Takedown, which is comprised of former
collegiate wresting standouts including Jake Rosholt,
Johny Hendricks, and Shane Roller. As the sport
continues to evolve, the next generation of fighters
must be consumate athletes, and wrestlers posess
the dedication and determination required to truly
excell in MMA. Look for great things to come of
these fighters in the near future.

Submission Grappling coach for the “Ultimate
Fighter” Reality show on Spike TV.
- November 6, 2004, Marc Laimon defeated Ryron
Gracie in one of the most anticipated superfights
in Grapplers Quest History. The match lasted for
20 minutes with Laimon winning 7 - 2.
- January 2005, Marc Laimon was named Brazilian
Jiu-Jitsu coach of the year by OnTheMat.com after
leading Cobra Kai to 2 Grapplers Quest Team Championships.
- In May 2005, Marc defeated BJJ Black Belt Fabio
Nascimento by unanimous decision at the main event
of the NeverTap Tournament

Stevenson.
